Write Shop Primary Book A

Once again we received an awesome book for review. We've looked at Write Shop for the older kids earlier in our review period (www.tumbleweednews.blogspot.com/2009/02/write-shop.html) and we are still using it. Here is one for my primary aged kids. I have to be honest though....I'm having the older kids be involved in this one as well. It has been a good review for them. Sometimes it has been much easier involving them all as much as possible in class time :) I don't always let them answer unless the younger ones are truly stumped and you can see the younger ones have some ah-ha moments.

Anyway.....Write Shop has another great product!! I am impressed.

Here's a exerpt from the introduction: "Developed for students in grades K-3, WriteShop Primary is designed for parents to work closely with their young children. As you interact with your child, you help him explore the world of words through a variety of colorful and meaningful activities.

WriteShop Primary is not meant to be a rigorous writing program. It is an introduction to early writing skills that give young children tools to experience success as they develop the ability to write...."

There are 3 books in this program intended to be used over a 2 year period. Of course it can be done quicker or take longer depending on the level and learning speed of your child/ren.

This book is very well written and easy to understand for the teaching process. It is broken down very well even to having a list of the materials needed at the beginning of each lesson. Nice!

I highly recommend this book for you and your young writer/s. I plan to continue with this series of books as well as we have 3 kindergarteners this year. I wish I'd had this at the beginning of the year but the wonderful thing about this program...it can begin at any time of the year and since we school year round it will work out just great anyway. Woohoo! By the time this group is ready for Book C, I'll have a new one ready for Book A.

I believe this one will have to go into my top 10 favorites of the reviews we've had the privilege of taking a look at this year.

Go to http://www.writeshop.com/ and check out all their wonderful books. Nancy I. Sanders has out done herself with her wonderful products.

God's Blessings
